Setting Up a Telegram Chat for a Crypto Project
A Telegram chat (group with two-way communication) is the primary community hub for Russian-speaking and Asian audiences. Differs from Discord: easier to join (link → straight to chat), but harder to manage content and roles.
Group Type
Public group with link: t.me/yourproject_chat. Open to all, link in channel bio.
Supergroup: automatic for groups > 200 participants. Adds: message replies, slow mode, ban functions.
Setup
Slow mode: 30-60 seconds for new account between messages. Critical against spam bots.
Restrictions for new participants: ban links first 24 hours after joining. Most spam-bots leave after this.
Verification via bot: @Shieldy or @GroupAntiBot — new participant must click button within 60 seconds, otherwise kick. Kills 95% of bots.

- Your custom bot: FAQ commands, /price, /docs
Rules:
- Pinned message with rules
- No price discussion (in serious projects)
- No unsolicited DM requests
- Only official exchange links
Anti-scam measures:
- Pinned message "Team NEVER DMs first"
- Admin badge via verification (check real username)
- Disable forward from private channels
