Writing a Project Litepaper
A litepaper is a condensed version of a whitepaper at 5-15 pages. Audience: retail investors, community members, and journalists. Goal: provide enough information to understand the project in 10-15 minutes and decide whether to investigate further.
How Litepaper Differs from Whitepaper
| Parameter | Whitepaper | Litepaper |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 20-60 pages | 5-15 pages |
| Audience | Tech-savvy, institutions | Broad audience |
| Technical Level | High, with code | Medium, without code |
| Goal | Detailed explanation | Attract interest |
Litepaper Structure
Problem: 1-2 paragraphs. Concrete and vivid — so a non-technical reader understands the importance.
Solution: what the project offers. Key innovations without technical details.
How it Works: high-level mechanism overview with diagrams. User journey flow.
Token: why a token, basic tokenomics.
Roadmap: key milestones.
Team: 3-5 key people with background.
How to Participate: CTA — website, Discord, Twitter.
Writing a litepaper: 1-2 weeks. For startups, a litepaper is often created first, whitepaper later.
