Mobile App Development for Notaries
A notary spends up to 30% of work time on client calls: checking status, booking appointments, clarifying document lists. Our mobile app eliminates this burden with automated push notifications via FCM and checklists with pre-uploaded scanned copies. Savings in staff time — up to 20 hours per week, and no-show rate drops to 5% compared to 25% with traditional booking. For a notary office with three employees, this saves up to 50,000 RUB per month on administrative work. Additionally, document printing and storage costs reduce by up to 15,000 RUB per month.
How Online Booking Reduces No-Show
Online booking includes a buffer between appointments, automatic reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before, with push confirmation. If the client does not confirm, the slot is automatically released. Result: no-show drops to 5–10% even in peak seasons. Automated booking reduces cancellations fourfold compared to phone booking. FCM notifications are twice as effective as SMS reminders for confirming appointments.
Document collection before the visit. The client sees a checklist for the specific action: power of attorney, will, purchase-sale. Without checklists, clients often arrive with incomplete documents, wasting time. In the app, scans undergo preliminary validation: ML Kit Document Scanner (Android) or Vision Framework (iOS) automatically recognize the document type, check format and readability. The client arrives with a complete package — saving 15–20 minutes per appointment.
Document readiness status. After the appointment, the client receives a push when the document is registered in the Unified Notary Information System or ready for pickup. No more calls to the office.
Why Security Is Critical for a Notary App
Storage of notarially significant data requires heightened protection. At the mobile app level: Keychain (iOS) and Keystore (Android) for token storage, document encryption with AES-256 before upload, screen capture prohibition (flag FLAG_SECURE on Android, ignoresScreenshots on iOS 16+). On the server — server-side encryption on MinIO or S3. All covered by security policies and regular audits. Client-side encryption prevents token and document compromise even if the device is lost.
Details of client-side encryption implementation
Encryption keys are stored in the platform's secure container (Keychain on iOS, EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android). The key itself is derived from biometric data or the user's PIN, providing an additional layer of protection.
