Configuring Conference Calls in Bitrix24

A typical scenario: a team of 15 people, half remote, weekly standups held in Zoom, links get lost in chats, recordings stored somewhere unclear. Meanwhile, Bitrix24 already has built-in video calls, conference rooms, and calendar integration. We configure conference calling to work inside the portal without external services — or with them if the business process requires.

Built-in video calls

Bitrix24 supports group video calls on all plans. Limitations depend on the plan:

  • Free plan — up to 12 participants, no recording
  • Basic — up to 24 participants, recording available
  • Standard and Professional — up to 48 participants, recording, screen share, HD video

A call is started from a chat: group chat → "Video call" button. All chat participants receive a notification. For one-off calls this is enough, but for regular meetings, conference rooms are needed.

Conference rooms

A room is a permanent link for recurring meetings. Created in "Video calls → Conferences":

  1. Set the name: "Sales Department Standup," "Dev Standup."
  2. Choose type: private (invitees only) or public (anyone can join via link).
  3. A permanent URL is generated like https://portal.bitrix24.ru/conference/xxxxx.
  4. The link can be added to a calendar event — participants get it in the invite.

A private room requires portal authorization. A public room allows external participants: clients, contractors, interview candidates. The external participant enters their name and waits in the lobby until the organizer approves entry.

Calendar integration

Conference calling is tied to Bitrix24 calendar events. When creating an event, enable "Video Conference" — the system automatically generates a link and adds it to the invite.

15 minutes before start, participants get a reminder with a "Join" button. This eliminates lost links: everything is in the calendar, which is already synced with the workflow.

Connecting Zoom and Microsoft Teams

If your team is used to Zoom or Teams — no need to abandon them. Bitrix24 integrates with both.

Zoom. An app is installed from the B24 marketplace. After OAuth authorization, when creating a calendar event, a "Create Zoom Conference" option appears. The link is generated automatically. A manager schedules a client call in CRM → creates a task of type "Call" → attaches a Zoom conference → the client receives an email with the link.

Microsoft Teams. Similarly via a marketplace app. Relevant for companies with Microsoft 365 subscriptions — participants join through the familiar Teams interface, and the event is recorded in Bitrix24.

Screen sharing and collaboration

During a conference, available features include:

  • Screen sharing — entire screen or a specific app window
  • Conference chat — text messages alongside video
  • Muting participants — organizer can mute participants (useful in large meetings)
  • Recording — saved to B24 Drive, link available in the conference chat after completion

The conference recording is tied to the chat and accessible to all participants. To record in CRM — attach the recording file to a deal or contact manually, or via a business process bot.
